University of Arizona Global Campus Faculty Support and Classroom Consultant in United States

The Faculty Support and Classroom Consultant (FSCC) position is a full-time employment opportunity. The University of Arizona Global Campus makes a difference in people’s lives through quality, caring, and innovation in higher education. Reporting to the Faculty Support and Development Manager, the FSCC supports these three standards and help provide enriching learning environment for The University of Arizona Global Campus students. The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning staff collaborate with members of each college to ensure the maintenance of academic quality and achievement of university-wide responsibilities related to the training and development of faculty.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assure quality in the online classroom by process by monitoring UAGC’s associate faculty and addressing classroom activity issues in accordance with UAGC’s course requirements for online associate faculty

  • Maintain current expertise on university policies and procedures, the terms of associate faculty contracts, and federal guidelines for faculty-student interactions (such as FERPA, Title IX, ADA, etc.)

  • Investigate and respond to faculty and student issues in accordance with university policies and procedures

  • Maintain a positive relationship with students and faculty by ensuring customer satisfaction with problem resolution

  • Coordinate with UAGC’s academic colleges, student-facing departments, the Academic Operations teams, and the Faculty Development and Coaching Specialists to understand new academic and operational policies relating to faculty classroom activity and student engagement

  • Create summary reports on faculty classroom activity and policy-related issues and present data-informed recommendations for formal faculty development or training

  • Create, deploy, and manage appropriate content to inform faculty of aforementioned updates

  • Maintain ongoing education on current teaching and learning best practices.

  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in education or related field

  • Teaching experience (distance education preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications.

  • Proficient in database management applications and contact management strategies.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and meet deadlines.

  • Effective problem solving skills.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in all communications.

  • Appropriate professional demeanor with instructors, students, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in faculty development and/or professional training preferred.

  • Experience in instructional design and educational technology preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working with adult students.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated excellent writing skills with the ability to use the rules of Standard English grammar.

  • An outgoing, friendly demeanor.

  • Experience with Canvas learning platform and/or other learning management systems preferred.


  • Master’s Degree is required.
