Data Analyst, Level II

Position Summary:

The Data Analyst, Level II position is a full-time employment opportunity. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Data Analyst, Level II provides data support to request from leadership, faculty, and staff by gathering and analyzing data, maintaining information systems, conducting inferential statistics, and data mining, as well as by preparing reports to support decision-making.

Essential Job Duties:

Under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Data Analyst, Level II will:

  • Perform data management activities such as pulling data from SQL databases, cleaning data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and computing relevant metrics.

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and provide analytical support to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Academics, Student Affairs, and the institution at large.

  • Create and maintain institutional reports to track and analyze institutional, academic, and student data and conduct evaluation of institutional programs, academic interventions, and student persistence initiatives.

  • Ensure reports are of required quality and adhere to recognized best practices in academics, data visualization, and data science.

  • Prepare data visualizations and reports for presentation of analyses and results.

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Provide quality assurance for projects and results produced by other analysts on the team.

  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans on key issues of higher education and learning.

  • Conduct exploratory analysis related to student performance and institutional effectiveness.

  • Experience in data analysis.

  • Experience in data visualization.

  • Working knowledge and experience of Excel, SQL, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization software (PowerBI preferred).

  • Experience in higher education (traditional or online).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred (data science, social sciences, education, business, or related field).
