University of Arizona Global Campus Online Associate Faculty- Cyber and Data Security Technology in Chandler, Arizona

The Associate Online Faculty position is a part-time, temporary adjunct employment opportunity. The Associate Online Faculty member performs duties relating to online instruction including but limited to: posting faculty guidance and expectations, participating in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments, providing instructive feedback, and promptly responding to student inquiries. This is an online adjunct teaching remote, work from home position and reports to the Lead Faculty.

The Associate Online Faculty exemplifies expert teaching practices that include:

  • Demonstrating awareness of and responding to the diverse needs of all students

  • Displaying a thorough knowledge of the subject matter

  • Facilitating instructional materials and providing guidance and feedback to all students according to university policy

  • Setting high expectations for student achievement and behavior

  • Evaluating student performance via established rubrics and policies

  • Responding to student emails and inquiries according to university policy

  • Addressing plagiarism concerns according to university policy

  • Collaborating with student-facing institutional personnel to enhance the student experience

  • The Associate Online Faculty position carries a teaching load as established by the University

Emphasize a student-centered learning environment through active engagement:

  • Collaborate within the University community to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students, including the following: the Office of Access and Wellness to holistically support student success in the classroom by implementing university-approved accommodations, the Instructional Services Department to foster professional growth as it relates to successful teaching for the University Arizona Global Campus student population, and the Student Records department to maintain timely and accurate student records.

  • Adhering to all faculty requirements such as facilitating and engaging in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.

  • One (1) hour of professional development is required to be completed per course taught. Examples of such are synchronous faculty development opportunities, webinars, etc.

  • Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States

  • Proficiency in common internet tools, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Interest and commitment to teaching in an online environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College level teaching experience

  • Doctorate degree in related field (preferred)

  • Masters in related field (mentioned above)

  • Experience teaching in area of degree

  • Experience teaching in the online classroom

  • Experience teaching in “non-traditional” settings to students

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA S+, EC-Council CEH, CISSP, CompTIA CASP +, Certified Information Security Manager, GSEC-Sans GIAC Security Essentials, CISM, CCNA Security or similar professional credentials, or similar professional credentials.

Other Duties:

  • Participates in meetings (onsite and/or virtual) as directed

  • Performs other duties as agreed upon in collaboration with College Leadership.


  • Hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field] OR [Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field AND at least three years of experience working in the Cybersecurity industry or least three years of experience teaching in Cybersecurity, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.

  • A doctoral degree is strongly preferred.
